Hi everyone,

I am looking for an indicator that will signal a Push Alert and a visible arrow on the chart when price has opened on one side of multiple moving averages and then closes on the other. Preferably when they have been bunched together tightly beforehand. It needs to allow for at least 4 Moving averages to be added 5 would be even better. I would like it if it had the ability to allow user to change the actual MA" s at any time. I have found indicators that do this but with only one moving average. I have also found others that show the cross of multi MA's but this is not what I am looking for. It specifically needs to alert when all of the MA's have been pushed through by one candle that Opened on one side of all those MA's and then Closed on the other side of them all.
I have looked everywhere but I can't find anything like this. If it already exists that would be great too, of course.

I have researched this for quite awhile and when this happens it almost always results in a strong move in direction of close. Great for Scalp trades on lower time-frames and larger moves on higher time-frames!

If anyone would be willing to take this on it would be Greatly Appreciated and probably useful to others as well.

Regards & Thanks

Paul,

Thanks for your response, much appreciated! The indicator you attached in your post is on the right track but I am specifically looking for something that will "Push Alert" when price has been on one side of these "tightly bunched" EMA's for awhile and then alerts when price pushes through them within one or two candles and then closes on the other side of these same EMA's. This often results in strong move in candle close direction, the other side of the bunched EMA's.

I also realize I did not specify Exponential EMA's which is what I use, my bad! Adjustable feature to switch between simple and exponential would be fine of course too.

If someone is able to code this, I am telling you it is a winner!

The primary emphasis is: Tightly bunched EMA's with price beginning on one side, then within a candle or two, it pushes through all of these EMA's and closes on the other side of them. The EMA's I am primarily looking for are: 12, 36, 100 & 200. Ideally, a visible alert "Arrow" would appear at the close candle and more importantly, a Push Alert triggered at this same candle close. I work many pairs so Alerts are crucial.

Thanks Again

By "Push Alert" i suppose you mean pop up alerts .
To see them the market must be opened and conditions you quoted fulfilled.

Paul, Thanks for the further developments, I added this to my charts and I am awaiting the first signal. I will keep you posted. By "Push Alerts" I meant Text Alerts, I guess that is what they call them in MT4.

Hello. Browse the Lindencourt Forex system. There is a good way out there. The input is also cleared as maximum as time, size and direction.
Good luck

Arteks,

I reviewed the Lindencourt method and it looks promising although it did have mixed reviews. It is a bit more complex than the system I am suggesting. With my idea I am getting a very, very high probability set-up when All listed MA's are closed past after being tightly bunched. I use a couple of other factors to determine if it is a valid trade or not, though not many. I trade larger than normal lots for my account size. I can do this because I am looking for minimal pip movements and I employ a tight manual stop, often managed on even lower time-frame than trade taken on. I go for minimum 1:1 profit/loss ratio but will stay in trade of course if optimal conditions persist, aka it keeps going my way! Win rates are excellent! Unexpected news being the exception.

PaulSelvan coded something that I am testing though he did not include Push Alerts, due to myself not being specific as to what those are. They are crucial to me as I am not always in front of the computer and inevitably signals happen when I am not. For anyone else wondering, they are essentially like text messages sent to cell-phone, very convenient. Pop-Alerts are an added bonus!
Anyone else willing to take a stab at it, more than welcome. All details are in recent posts.

Thanks Again, Again

O.K. I hope you explain the entry and exit in more detail so that I can not offer you unnecessary help. You have a lot of signals at a time - who you are getting for real, and what is the turnout or overlord with martingale.

Paul,

Thanks again I added updated version just waiting for Alert!

One question though, I opted to just use the 4 EMA's 12, 36, 100, 200. I set the 5th EMA, the 633 EMA to 0. It is great when all 5 line up but
it doesn't happen nearly as often. Will this still Alert with the settings this way, just having the 4 EMA's entered with the 5th set to 0?

I hope so, I am anxious to get an Alert. I also want you to know I truly appreciate all of your hard work on this! Thanks Paul.

Arteks,

I am a little uncertain of your question but appreciate your input. I have a method that I trade looking for ultra high probability set-ups that may only go a few pips, sometimes more, sometimes less. I usually drop down to a lower time frame than the trade was taken on and watch for any hesitation in price if it hesitates I exit. I employ a very tight manual stop but will let it run as long as it wants as long as no hesitation. I use larger lot sizes but because my stops are very tight and win percentage is good and with the larger lot sizes, it is still profitable for me.

Were you referencing the EMA trade set-up or the Reversal Fractal one? I trade both similarly, as stated above.

Would you by chance know how to add Push Alerts to the Reversal Fractals indicator I posted recently? Preferably adjustable per time frame, if possible.

Thanks & Best Regards

Paul,

You have been so helpful already so I hate to ask but I guess not enough not to ask. You seem to know your way around these things. I have an indicator that I am dying to get Push Alerts added to. It is a "Reversal Fractals" Indicator that works very well with my tight scalping methods. I could do a lot better with it if it just had Alerts. Pop-ups would be good too, but if only one choice, push alerts. Not sure if you are willing but thought I would ask. If you decide to take it on please make the alerts adjustable/on-off per time-frame so as to not inundate the user with one-minute Alerts, unless wanted. I need to keep the one minute chart open so I can exit the trade if a signal appears in the opposite direction, I just need the Alerts for entries, 5-minute charts & up. I have attached indicator below.

Anyone else willing to take a crack at it would be much appreciated too!

Thanks

Give me more precisions :

1>You keep open m1 chart
2>No need m1 alerts
3>Indicator should give only one another timeframe(e.g m15) alerts, shouldn't' it ?

Paul,

Sorry, I don't mean to make this so confusing. Let me see if I can explain a bit more clearly. I am a bit confused too about how V4 is configured.

Ideally, I would like it to have the ability to Alert on any one or all of the timeframes at any given time, if possible. I don't really need 1-minute alerts but I do need the others. I was just wondering if it was possible to turn the alerts on or off per time-frame. That way if I am only doing 5-minute time-frame scalping I could turn the alerts on for that time-frame only. The thing I am trying to avoid is getting too many alerts, primarily from the one minute chart. If it is too difficult or impossible to do I completely understand and I am sure I can find another way, no problem. Again, I really appreciate all of the work you have done thus far!

I have to admit I am confused about the last set of instructions, probably due to confusing you in what I was looking for. Let me know if this clears things up for you and then maybe you could let me know if V4 still applies or not. I was ok with V3, I just wanted to know if I opted out of EMA#5 by putting a 0, if that would work or not? The 5 EMA's don't "Bunch-Up" nearly as often as the 4 of them do - 12, 36, 100 & 200 EMA's. I know I had requested 5 and I do like the ability to add it, but the 4 will be used most of the time. I may just add the 5th - 633 EMA when I see that the 633 EMA is getting close by. If it is too difficult, just make it for the 4 of them, that will be just fine. I would rather do that than have it set for 5 and only get very occasional signals or have it too confusing with the setting as to where I mess them up. The Main things are Push Alerts and the 4 "Bunched Up" EMA's before price closes on the opposite side of the "Bunch" from where it started.

I wanted also to let you know that I have a strong collection of Indicators, many of them very useful. If you are in need of anything please let me know what you are looking for, I may be able to help.

Just let me know how I should proceed from here. Thanks again Paul.

Version 3 will bug if you set ema5=0 !
Version 4 will not bug : you can disable ema5 by setting its period ema5=0, or activite it with ema=633

Paul,

That's great, I am glad I could help you in some small way. If you would like a bit more practice LOL, I could really use help adding Push Alerts to the Reversal Fractals Indicator. This is actually the mainstay of my tight scalp trading but I miss most of the signals or just get to them too late. I tried many pairs and Push Alerts are indispensable. I should have started with this request as these are by far the most important to me. The EMA tool is great but doesn't happen nearly as often.

I don't' want to take advantage of your kindness and time but if you would be willing, I would be eternally grateful! I don't know anything about this coding stuff, I am not the most technically savvy. I have attached the indicator in case you decide to take a look at it.

If there is anything I can do to help you, please do not hesitate to ask. You have been very kind and helpful!

Thanks as Always

The moving averages are very useful and tend to be good points, for TP, reversals, etc

I have tested the indicator V3 from Paul (very good job by the way, nice and clean) which is bang on

Not too sure about the reversal fractal indicator as that seems to be guess work, repainting but I could be wrong

All the best
Zaf
