Has AI Changed Your Trading Strategy?

With all the advancements in AI, I'm curious—has AI changed your trading strategy? Are you still relying solely on traditional indicators, or have you started incorporating AI tools into your trading mix?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on how AI has impacted your trading, if at all. Have you seen better results, or do you still prefer the tried-and-true methods?

Like AI can't tell who is next U.S president. I can't trust AI.

On mt5 markets many ea claimed it's AI enabled, you may try them a try on demo accounts.

AI is entering everywhere it is going and all places and all industries. for trading also it is giving trading analysis and strategies and all. for me also it is helping with strategies.

As an industry, the progress that’s been made with AI in trading has been disappointing, but not totally unexpected. Most of what the trading industry engages in isn’t actually AI, it’s trained machine learning. Or more appropriately it’s a model that someone developed, then used a ML algorithm to try and optimize it’s variables to control for fitment.
The problem though is that the hedge fund industry, is calling that AI. Calling something AI, whether it’s actually AI or not, has added a bit of ‘buzz’ to the marketing. So when the results don’t radically outpace returns from other strategies (after all… why would they… they are essentially the same as other strategies) the hedge fund investor base gets burned.
There are some people out there using actual untrained heuristic AI systems to try to trade the market, but those guys are experts in tech not markets, and don’t understand the research goals. They don’t usually understand any more about how markets work than your typical retail investor - which is to say “not at all”.
So, up to now I don’t think AI has helped much in the way that you imagine with your question. I think it may one day, in fact I’d go so far as to say it probably will. But it’s going to be a while before a person with the right knowledge is going to be able to get together with all the right resources to make it happen.

I have found it useful to train ML models to be used as a filter for classic TA based strategies.

very big change for me is that chatgpt can code a strategy by my rules and then i can back test it and see if its actually working.

and the results are interesting. most classic strategies are not profitable really. then again money management can vary the result a lot.

Trading is the same, buy the break out or the retracement & range trading.

The only thing that AI have changed to me is just more mess except from some useful tips that I must go back to my books to find and AI chats can save me time!

with having my own EA I was able to back test. systems that i was sure are profitable were not etc.

and also if i wanted to use EA who would code it for me so many times for free?

Agree with you Katler, AI has become a buzzword in today's standards even though it's humble beginnings was 1956. Marketing is what is changing most of the industries but given the rapid developments in artificial intelligence, I think we traders alike will have access to our own machine learning models soon that will spit out signals for us to take (and understand HOW the models obtained the signals) which could again change markets. I remember back in the day you only had to advertise your business if you needed work, where as everyone knew your company or business through word of mouth, recommendations or a business card in the letterbox.

It's an exciting time though, what a world we live in. When will the machines take over!?!

Yes, it will make mistakes, but you can simply copy and paste the errors, and ChatGPT will fix them.

I never imagined the results!
Systems I was confident were profitable turned out not to be. And seeing how money management affects the results is eye-opening!

It’s truly amazing, and I regret not hiring someone in the past to teach me how to code. I would have saved so much time and money staring at charts, unsure if I was on the right track.

With backtesting, that problem is gone. I’m no longer manually pressing the trade button—it’s all automatic now!
