Finally, all employment NFP, ADP and JOLT opening job declined. Labor market s very bad and unpredicted Trump policy and the reverse relation between Trump and powel and the upcoming reverse tariff trade war expressed surely an uncertain US economy

Weaker than expected NFP but Avg Hourly Earnings coming in hot. Overall very mixed as displayed by the lack of market direction.


Retail Trade: Added 34,000 jobs, driven by +13,000 in general merchandise retailers and +5,000 in furniture and home furnishing retailers.

Health Care: Gained 44,000 jobs, with hospitals (+14,000), nursing and residential care facilities (+13,000), and home health care services (+11,000) leading growth.

Social Assistance: Increased by 22,000 jobs, led by +20,000 in individual and family services.

Government: Continued its upward trend with +32,000 jobs, in line with the +38,000 monthly average in 2024.

Payroll Revisions: November job gains revised up from +212,000 to +261,000. December job gains revised up from +256,000 to +307,000.

Avg Hourly Earnings up 4.1% y/y growth, showing sustained wage pressure. It's well above pre-pandemic norms (~3%). Higher wages could feed into inflation concerns, particularly in services.


Mining, Quarrying, and Oil & Gas Extraction: Declined by -8,000 jobs, primarily in support activities for mining.

Durable Goods Manufacturing: Lost -9,700 jobs, with -5,400 from motor vehicles and parts.

Temporary Help Services: Declined by -12,400 jobs, reflecting reduced demand for contingent labor.

Professional & Business Services: Dropped by -11,000 jobs, after a prior +31,000 gain in December.

I respect your opinion but this is generally a good data just look at the unemployment and average hourly earning all of those component arises the inflation considering the tariffs will add up to the inflation so that is bullish USD

Brother series of employment data was declined? How will you balance with the hourly rate? It will decline more ahead of month. Do not forget burning area California and Los Angeles area, Immigration rules illegal people and by birth citizens are out from the USA and maximum illegal labor is hiding and no job.

Do you realize that this data is from before Trump took office and has been showing resilient numbers throughout Biden's term? People complained numbers were bogus when Biden was in office but all sudden its the "Trump era" effect?

Agree Bullish as Others AUD GBP EUR etc has room to downside.....Even CAD has more room to upside with Pending recession on the cards for Canada....They didn't have much recession in 2008 as the economy is much more resiliant to American economics.

Anybody consider that the change in trend is simply due to the fact that the Commissioner of Labor Statistics has a new boss as of January 20th? Her new boss is the acting Secretary of Labor and is part of the president's cabinet.

Biggest Challenge with all USD news in these times is the confidence in the info....Who know how much of the data is sold to the highest bidder(s) before it hit the public?
