EIA: US crude inventories up by 5.8M barrels
Commercial crude oil inventories in the United States, which are not accounting for those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, were up by 5.8 million barrels to t 422.7 million barrels in the week ending October 4, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed in its report on Wednesday. The figure was widely above the anticipated 2 million barrels jump. US crude oil refinery inputs averaged 15.6 million barrels per day for the corresponding week, which is 101,000 barrels per day less than the previous week's average.
