    United States initial jobless claims for the week ending September 14 dropped by 12,000 from the previous week's revised total to 219,000, according to a report by the Department of Labor published on Thursday. The figure was lower than predicted by analysts. The 4-week moving average was 227,500, a decrease of 3,500 from the previous week's revised average. The insured unemployment rate stood at 1.2% in the week ending September 7, with the insured unemployment at 1,829,000, lower by 14,000 compared to the previous week. Inflation is not just contained, it is down. The price of most things is down from a year ago. The stickiest problem that most everyone has with inflation is re: housing, and lowering interest rates should help with that, in time. Meanwhile, the US Federal debt continues to grow unchecked, and paying the interest on that is eating up more and more of the Federal budget. For every 100 bps decrease in the ffr, the annual debt service decreases by $$$ billions. Jpow waited too long to lower the ffr, and you can expect him to keep at it, unless the inflation data takes a sharp U-turn higher.

He’s lowering because of the employment figures . A slowing economy brings inflation down with it which is what we’re seeing. Not only housing, they’re struggling to contain wage demands, oil is priced for a recession. There’s so many components still not contained so we’ll beg to differ You’re correct about the Budget deficit which imo is the primary reason for the current situation
housing is the biggest component in CPI, and it's a lagging indicator

Seems like this didn’t change anything lol dollar won’t establish any ground. All this data saying a whole bunch of nothing when you look at how market responds. Gains and losses being erased at every turn. Wicked times
