  • Euro area annual inflation down to 2.4%

    Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 2.4% in March 2024, down from 2.6% in February according to a flash estimate from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, services is expected to have the highest annual rate in March (4.0%, stable compared with February), followed by food, alcohol & tobacco (2.7%, compared with 3.9% in February), non-energy industrial goods (1.1%, compared with 1.6% in February) and energy (-1.8%, compared with -3.7% in February).

Nobody is talking about that MoM inflation increased by 1.1% which is huge, annualised it reaches over 8%!

Propaganda is real, and if those idiots start dropping rates, inflation will be back to double digits in no time. Oil has climbed over 20% in 3 months and is still going up, that's going to hit prices.
And where is the problem if a few months it will be negative? Prices have to come down not just slow down the increase. People need to be more careful in spending for a period, but that's not happening. Almost everyone is used to spending like crazy because of credit card, credit, and loans. No one knows how to save money or save and invest with the brain.

Thats because its irrelevant. Cuts are incoming. And I seriously doubt it will boost the inflation. The EU economy is all too hard hit for prices to move further. But we will see.

Anyone with a brain is long, long and long. Smart investors never entertain the idea of timing the market. Its a buy and hold until the basecase is no longer valid.

It's irrelevant? no comment. That's why commodities and metals are skyrocketing, smart investors are moving away from riskier assets, and only dumb retailers are buying all the dips.
Smart investors always time the market 12 - 18 months ahead.

There is a literal market shift happening right in front of our eyes, even in the stock world, Energy/commodity companies are flying.

Indeed, commodities has broken out and will probably go higher. But that doesnt necessary mean that inflation will sky rocket above 5% again.

2% inflation is target rate and quite healthy. 2.4% is still a bit high. 2% would match the Swiss decrease rate to make it even EUR/CHF target is 1 for now until ECB cuts rate in June
