    In the week ending February 24, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 215,000, an increase of 13,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 201,000 to 202,000. The 4-week moving average was 212,500, a decrease of 3,000 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 215,250 to 215,500. The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.3 percent for the week ending February 17, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from the previous week's unrevised rate.     US citizens that applied for unemployment insurance benefits increased by 215K in the week ending February 24 according to the US Department of Labor (DoL) on Thursday. The prints came in short of initial estimates and followed a 202K gain in the previous week. Further details of the publication revealed that the advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.3% (from 1.2%) and the 4-week moving average stood at 212.50K, a decrease of 3.000K from the previous week's revised average. Because they need news in line or just below expectations. It is crazy what is going on. Almost everything is more expensive than last year, but they only say that inflation is not growing more than 2-3%...Crazy..

The typical retailer spends most of their money fighting the markets. Odd as it may be that markets are trading around ATH there is just no need to trade against it. We may get a complete wash out but I have experienced that it can be expensive to be first mover.

I have items that I buy from my supermarket from 2020 that have increased easily over 40%. Especially one particular topical cream that I use to buy was about $9 bucks and sells for $14.50.

I'm not sure where these farce inflation numbers are but inflation is definitely higher than a 2-3% tick for certain.

Says nothing, really. What yyou need to pay attention to is whether that cream goes from 14.50 to 18. Because that tells you something about the inflation now which is what moves market. Market dont care if it went from 9 to 14. Thats already priced in. And thats how inflation works, we all get a little poorer until our salary catches up with the inflationary move. But dont expect the creamt to go down to 9 bucks again. If that happens we will have another problem.
