The 2050 net-zero emissions target is still reachable despite "stubbornly high" CO2 emissions, International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol said while presenting the agency's updated Net-Zero Emissions (NZE) scenario. This is made possible by record growth in global clean-energy investment, which grew by 40% in the past two years and now reaches $1.8 trillion — almost twice fossil fuels' $1 trillion.
