Gas price in Europe keeps declining after hitting record highs on previous day

The price of gas futures for October delivery at the TTF hub in the Netherlands currently stands at $771 per 1,000 cubic meters

MOSCOW, September 16. /TASS/. The gas price in Europe continues declining during September 16 trading after almost reaching a record high of $970 per 1,000 cubic meters at the peak on the previous day, according to data provided by the ICE exchange.

Particularly, the price of gas futures for October delivery at the TTF hub in the Netherlands currently stands at $771 per 1,000 cubic meters, or 63.2 euro per MWh (on the basis of the current euro exchange rate against the dollar, prices at ICE are in euro per MWh).

On Wednesday, the gas price was up by $150, hitting an all-time high several times, and almost reaching $970 per 1,000 cubic meters at the peak. However, the price dropped to around $800 per 1,000 cubic meters by trading closing.
